“Customs clearance in Spain for vehicles from non-EU countries not eligible for preferential treatment”

In the initial stage, we advise the client on legal, economic, and organizational issues related to the customs clearance in Spain of vehicles imported from non-EU countries outside the preferential system.

We then inspect the vehicle and review the relevant data to determine whether it is eligible for customs clearance and registration in Spain. We then calculate an estimated cost.

Next, our team, together with the client,
decides whether proceeding with the procedure is feasible.

If the client is ready to begin the process, the first step is to prepare the vehicle to meet European standards.

Next, all translations and original documents are prepared.

Finally, the vehicle is shipped to Spain.

We provide the customs broker with all the necessary documents to calculate the customs clearance costs.

Next, we pay the taxes and duties and clear customs.

One of the most complex stages in this process is individual European type approval. At this stage, the vehicle receives confirmation of full compliance with European standards.

Next, our team prepares the documents for the vehicle inspection, undergoes the inspection, and obtains all necessary documents, which are sent to the government agency to register the vehicle in Spain.

This stage involves paying the taxes for registering the car in Spain, based on the vehicle’s appraised value.

At this stage, we finally receive the Spanish documents, have the license plates made, and arrange insurance.

From this point on, the vehicle is fully authorized to use public roads.
